This is an exciting year for Douglas County Historical Society. We are starting a blog written by DCHS staff published on Friday every other week. We invite you to get involved in conversation.

In 2019, many Omaha anniversaries are occurring. The Crook House built in 1879 turns 140 years. The Italianate house, on the National Register of Historic Places, is open to the public. The Standing Bear Trial turns 140 years old. This year also marks the 100th anniversary of the Will Brown Lynching at the Douglas County Court House.

Can you think of anymore 100th anniversaries occurring this year in Omaha? Let us know on our “Share Your History” feature. We want to hear your story! Feel free to also share with us your experiences and memories of Douglas County.
